Michigan's Backup Quarterback Has Never Thrown A College Pass
At his first Big Ten Media Days, Whittingham said Tommy Carr is Michigan's backup quarterback without a doubt, putting a true freshman who has never taken a college snap ahead of Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, who threw 969 passes at Colorado State. In the same session he said Bryce Underwood arrived not nearly as fundamentally sound as he needed to be, and pointed at how the position was staffed in 2025, when the offensive coordinator carried the quarterbacks title as well. Camp opens August 5.
