Off a 72-point WHL season; signed his entry-level deal.
At least one San Jose player who has never appeared in an NHL regular-season game dresses for all four of the Sharks' 2026-27 preseason games.

Ivar Stenberg had four power-play points in four games while his ice time rose and fell with them. Andre Gasseau passes Carson Wetsch on the prospect board, and Luca Cagnoni sat for a night.

San Jose cut camp to 36 on Wednesday, sending Andre Gasseau and Carson Wetsch to the Barracuda and putting Ethan Cardwell, Tye Felhaber and Libor Hajek on waivers. Four of the eight players who dressed for both exhibitions are gone. Ryan Warsofsky explained why Cardwell, with 13 NHL games, went ahead of Jimmy Huntington, who has none.

The first weekly Sharks prospect board covers September 11 through September 17. San Jose won both Rookie Faceoff games, 8-1 over Los Angeles and 3-1 over Utah, and Mike Grier disclosed on September 17 that Quentin Musty is out a couple of months at least and Cameron Lund at least a month and through the start of the regular season. Carson Wetsch is the prospect of the week on two goals, two assists and three fights across the two games. Ethan Cardwell is off the board on a verified split of 6 NHL games in 2024-25 and 7 in 2025-26, which is the disqualifying condition. For 13 of the 30 players, no primary establishes a 2026-27 club.
