Camilo Doval is on the San Francisco Giants' 40-man roster as MLB publishes it on December 2, 2026. RIGHT if he is listed, whether tendered, signed to a 2027 contract or extended. WRONG if he is absent by any route: non-tendered, designated, released, traded or claimed.

Camilo Doval, the former Giants closer traded to the Yankees in 2025, was claimed back off waivers from Pittsburgh on September 24 and said he hoped to finish his career in San Francisco. Keeping him is the one money decision in the club's arbitration class. MLB Trade Rumors' model projects the nine eligible Giants at $18.4 million, with Doval at $6.6 million. For the other eight, the decision is a roster spot on a 40-man that lists 57 names, because the room made for Doval came from moving Blade Tidwell to the 60-day injured list, which only lasts until the World Series ends. Doval walked 12.1 percent of the batters he faced in 2026. The alternative is the November market where the club found Sam Hentges and Jason Foley a year ago. No take in the body; one Called Shot filed on whether he is on the 40-man on December 2.

The 2025-26 Giants signed nine major league free agents for $70.28 million guaranteed across the nine, and none of the nine came from the top of the market. Each is graded here as of its signing date, on a four-part rubric in this order: need, fit, price and term against MLB Trade Rumors' November 6 and FanGraphs' November 5 predictions, and risk. Hentges B, Foley B-, Houser C+, Mahle B+, Bader A-, Arraez B+, Wick C, Brennan B-, Borucki C+. The winter as a class, graded at opening day: C+. The result grades come at the All-Star break and at season's end.
